Okay, so this test really sucks. I couldn't eat past 10 last night and I was okay with that. For some reason, I had these really weird dreams this morning - I think it was because I was afraid that I wouldn't wake up on time for my test. I don't know why I was so worried, but I was...still am.
I got up on time, slapped some make-up on, and was out the door by 7:23 - my appointment was at 7:30. I made it there and there were like 9 people ahead of me, but they let me come up quickly, took my first blood sample, and then I drank 100 units of that lovely orange drink. Then I proceeded to wait. I was there until 10:50. It wasn't completely horrible...I stocked up on magazines last night (and then two came in the mail today - isn't it always the way?), texted with Bill, my sister, and my friend, Jenny. That kept me busy for a while. The phlebotomist was really nice...she kept asking if I felt okay and just made me feel better about the whole thing. By the time I was done, the babies were pounding on my stomach...they probably thought I went on strike and wasn't going to nourish them anymore! I felt so bad! So, I ate a few peanut M & Ms, drank 1/2 of my water and went to the car. I didn't want to drive yet - not b/c I didn't feel well, but I just wanted to make sure. So, I ate a few more M & Ms and then drove directly to Burger King.
Thank God for my chicken sandwich (with cheese and pickles), fries, and chocolate shake. Sooooo good!
When I got home, the painter had already begun and the place looks great...he's coming back tomorrow to finish up and take care of the trim. It's so nice to have someone else in charge of that rather than Bill take something else on his shoulders. I think he felt a little helpless though!
Then I had a doctor's appointment. I am measuring 38 WEEKS!!! Shit! I'm only 29 weeks! How much bigger can I get? I guess we'll find out! The doctor said that everything looked great...I'm now weighing in at 179 pounds - still haven't broke 180! My blood pressure is fine and my Strep B test came back negative. I got the feeling that she definitely thought that I was going to test positive for Gestational Diabetes, but when I said that to Bill, he didn't agree. I guess we'll wait and see what happens. Oh, and that hard thing sticking out of my stomach...a foot! It's so cute! The babies' heart rates are great and everything looked good today. I'm going back weekly from now on and have an ultrasound on the 30th, so I can't wait to see them again!
That's all for now...so glad school is over, glad the house is getting painted and finished, and glad that my babies are doing so well. Take care!
