I went for my dietician counseling for gestational diabetes and I can do this. The diet isn't too bad...I just have to watch portion control and increase my fruits and veggies (I've known that all along, but preparing them is a bitch!). That took about 1.5 hours and it was well worth it. I learned how to use the glucometer and when to use it. It's not so bad...I thought my finger would hurt for a little while, but it's quite painless.
After that, I went back to my OB's office b/c I have been having a lot of pelvic pressure and this week it has turned into pain - which does wonders for my sexy walk! Bill just wanted me to get it checked to make sure that there haven't been any changes in my cervix. The doctor did an internal (my first time - I'm no longer an "internal virgin"...just a lot of pressure...not too much pain - I was nervous) and he said that the cervix is still closed and feels long enough, so I'm doing well. He reiterated to me not to worry about housework or doing anything like that...he just wants me off my feet! That's pretty much what I've been doing, so I will keep it up. He seemed surprised that I was still so mobile...guess he doesn't know what he's dealing with...I can't stop moving! So, tomorrow, I will start on the full-fledged GD diet and monitoring. I can handle this...I can handle all of this. I need at least 3-4 more weeks to feel good about this, so I can handle this.
