What an action packed weekend! My Dad was here from Thursday to Saturday and helped me out so much...God, what a help just to have an extra set of hands around. We ventured out to the mall on Friday...my Dad wasn't stressed at all, but I was! I hate it there with all of those germy people and everything...we made it though! We didn't do anything on Friday night, but we were exhausted! I don't think I have seen my Dad go to bed that early in a long time...the babies must have worn him out! It's a neverending cycle of changing, feeding, playing, napping, and catching up!
Saturday we got up (early of course), fed the babies, and tried desperately to go back to sleep...it worked with Hailey, but Matt had to come into our bed. It was so sweet to look over and see Bill asleep with Matthew next to him under our sheet...so cute! I wish I had my camera by my bed, but it would have ruined the moment...I'll remember that without the aid of a camera! Once we finally got up, we fed the babies (again) and I got ready to get my hair styled. Yes, that's a little luxury that I gave myself this weekend. I wanted my hair straight and I didn't want to spend the time (okay and the energy) doing it myself, so I had my hairdresser do it. She's awesome and it wasn't too expensive, so luxury well worth it! By the time I got home, my Dad was gone...
I spent the rest of the afternoon taking care of the babies b/c Bill was finishing up some stuff on the house and going to the gym. He got home from the gym and I realized that I needed to get my ass in gear! I got dressed and started off to Baltimore...not before stopping at Kohl's for gifts fo rmy friend that had a baby boy 8 weeks ago...yes, I'm a little behind on the baby present...give me a break. Some good news? I fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans! I finally could get my Joe's Jeans back on and they looked decent! I made Bill tell me the truth...I think he may have actually done it too...they felt good. I am so psyched about that.
My night was spent with my girlfriends from college...so much fun and so many laughs! They are an awesome group of women and I couldn't be luckier to have them in my life! We did a gift exchange at a sushi place and it was perfect. There was a lot of wine consumed and a lot of laughs...totally worth leaving the kids home with the husbands! It's amazing when you find a woman or a group of women that you can laugh so freely with...I appreciate it so much as I get older b/c you find that less often. These girls knew me when I was still trying to figure out who I was, going through horrible break-ups, dating people that they knew would end with horrible break-ups, going to school, going back to school, trying to get pregnant, being jealous that they were pregnant, finally getting pregnant, being scared that I wouldn't stay pregnant, and now finally as a mother/wife. I am so lucky to have them in my life...we've known each other for 12 years and now that two of them are moving out of the area, we're starting to panic b/c we've really come to lean on each other. I know we'll still see each other, but if nothing else, we have our memories (and several horrible photographs)!
Today we did the "let's put the babies back to bed" thing again...it worked again! We got up at 6:00, fed them, put them back to bed, and didn't wake back up until 9:15...unheard of! We both got to the gym and Bill finished up the lights on the outside of the house (and vacuumed for which I will love him endlessly). Then we watched a lot of football (as usual) and now I'm sitting here with a glass of wine watching the Giants/Cowboys game. This could be chalked up as a good weekend! Go Giants!!!
