Okay...get back into vacation mode...so many things are happening in the next month that I'm all scatter-brained! Shocker!
Tuesday: This was a pretty chilled out day for the kids. Have I mentioned how nice it is to have someone else play with the kids? It's the best! To see my Mom on the floor playing with the kids is classic! Anyway, I went shopping with my Mom and sister...thank God. I actually got bras that fit! I went to VS to get measured and then tried on some really good bras...I don't think that Kohl's is going to be getting very much of my bra business from now on! We also went to Ann Taylor Loft to get a new outfit. I was seeing friends from college that I hadn't seen in years...I graduated in 1996, so it's been a while. I brought a cute dress, but we ended up going to Chi.li's, so I wanted something a little more casual. I've been buying most of my clothes from Old Navy lately, so I decided to step it up. I got a cute outfit and another cute shirt. I was happy with my purchases. It was also nice to get out just with my Mom and sister and do a little shopping. Bill's main objective in me going shopping was bras though...he was sick of hearing me complain about it! The rest of the day was pretty normal...the weather sucked though. It figures that the days that we didn't have anywhere to really go were horrible weather-wise. I didn't make it to the beach the whole time we were there b/c it just wasn't worth it. That was kind of annoying, but I'll get over it! I went to dinner with my girlfriends that night and it was so nice to see them and catch up. It was like 13 years hadn't even passed! I really love that feeling!
Wednesday: We were going to see my Nana and Al today...they were so excited to see the kids. The only time they had met them was at the baptism in April. They don't travel so much these days. So, we got up, breakfast, naps, in the car to Woodbury! When we got there, my Nana wanted to take a bunch of pictures. It was actually kind of good that we did it right away b/c the kids were out of their element and were starting to show it big time! We took a four generation picture with the kids, me, my Dad, and Nana. Then my Nana wanted to take a picture with each kid...that was interesting. Matthew was literally walking up her chest backwards...too much! He's such a wiggleworm lately that I wasn't really surprised. We had brunch...bagels, cream cheese, fruit, coffee...the works. The babies were hungry and we tried to give them lunch, but it was hard b/c they just weren't into it. My Dad was playing with Matthew and Al was talking to Hailey...it's always fun to see other people interact with the babies. My Dad offered to take them for a walk. He loves doing this...it gives him time with the babies and they love being outside. We set up the stroller and he walked them around the neighborhood. We couldn't find him forever and we finally see him stroll past the house. I go outside and the babies are out...we're talking OUT! It was really cute b/c I hadn't seen them fall asleep in this stroller yet. On the other hand, it threw me into a slight panic b/c I didn't want that to be their afternoon nap. So, we decided to get ready to leave. Bill sat in the back with the babies and kept them up on the ride home...naps when we got home and relaxing.
I am so happy that we got to see so much of my family on this trip. It really means a lot to me that my Nana was able to meet my kids, hang out with them for a little while, see me as a mother, and Bill as a father. She doesn't travel very much anymore and it's really hard for me to get up to NY, so this was a great opportunity. I am very lucky to have been able to introduce my children to my grandmother...not everyone gets that chance. More tomorrow on the end of our trip!
