Rash Watch 2010...gross, right?

So, here is what Matt looked like this morning...markedly worse than yesterday...

Ugh...seriously? Still not on his back though...

Oh...poor torso...so much worse than yesterday!

Ew...gross reddened hands.

If you click on this picture, you can see his little ear...Matt's look of shock and dismay equaled mine at that point. My kids are getting really good at mimicking emotions now!

After trying to get through to the pediatrician's office for 30 minutes, I finally got an appointment. They suggested that we go to the "Contagious Room" since they were unsure of what it was...made me feel like a leper! Anyway, Husband met me there so he could walk Hailey around the office building while I took care of Spot (yes, that's what I'm calling him these days...he's taken a liking to it). The Good Doctor came in, asked some questions, listened to me, and examined Matthew...fully. God, that kid does NOT like being put down on that paper...hates it.

Turns out, it's viral...he was a little shocked at how quickly and completely it spread, but it's a virus. Gross, right? No oozing, puss, blisters, pimples...thank God...I'd have a complete nervous breakdown if this shit came with extra fluids. Take extra care in the sun and notify them if it gets worse.

Thanks for all of your concerns...I really like hearing that this crap happens to other people. Makes me feel like less of a leper.

Oh, and when I was snapping Matt's update shots, Hailey got very enraged that she wasn't in on the action, so here is her morning photo...what a little diva we have emerging! Ugh...just my luck, right? Doesn't she know that she can't replace me?

More tomorrow about this...I am so freaking excited about this. That's right...our very own C.S.A.!!!! Pick up on Wednesday! I can't wait!!!

Poor little boy! Is this contageous? I could never handle twins in fear of having two sick babies. You are so strong!!

And I love that you have a CSA! I really really realllllly want to hear all about it!! And why couldn't you give us some sort of details tonight?!? Cliff hangerrrr

It does look just like PUPPS, poor guy! Hopefully it will go away soon. Is it still not bothering him? I can feel my skin crawling just looking at it (please, please, please spare me that rash for this pregnancy).

Our kids have had viral rashes before, but they never looked like that. At least you have pictures now that can be used as blackmail later in life! I think that would gross out any teenage girl that he might like in the future.

oh boy! poor kiddo!! That does not look comfortable - esp if its hot out! Jacob used to be the kid who got all the mystery rashes....which was funny b/c it was Sarah and Adam that have the sensitive skin/eczema. Jacob just broke out again recently on his face - looked like a teenage boy with bad acne. Not sure what it was but didn't bother him and cleared up fine and didn't spread. ???

Hope Hailey doesn't get it!! *fingers crossed*

One of my girlfriend's twin son had something very similar a couple of months ago. It never seemed to bother him, though, and it faded pretty quickly. Hope Matt gets through it quickly, too.

A had a little rash on her face last week. I was 95% sure it was contact dermatitis, but I still needed some cream, since what I'd been using wasn't working. Our pediatrician has you come in the back door, straight to a room, for any kind of rash. It worked so well, as I was wearing a baby in the carrier, and carrying one on my hip...through the back door and straight to a room was perfect!

I'm thinking, for future reference, even when they have the flu, of saying, "Oh yeah, and they also have a little rash," just so I can get the VIP / leper treatment.

My oldest had a rash like that around age 2 - it became horrible and he seriously looked like a leaopard. they sent me to the childrens hosp er they ended up not really deciding between viral and allergic reaction to amoxicillin.

I am still thinking it was viral.

Hope it goes away soon!

Oh no, your poor little boy! Two years ago I got chiggers really bad. They're little parasites that burrough under your skin. I looked just like your little boy. It was awful. And the worst part about it all? I got them from a soccer field, just sitting in the grass. I hope he'll be back to normal in no time.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my guest post over at Seven Clown Circus. I really appreciate that. Hope you have a fabulous day.
