That's mean. You're not all freaks. Just some of you...okay, most of you.
For those of you who feel the need to leave your nice cozy homes and loving families on Black Friday...good freaking luck!!!
What is what all about, anyway? Is it really worth it?
I just don't get it...I never will. Sister and G.G. go every year. I'll never get it.
Did you know that ToysRUs opens at 10PM on Thanksgiving night? What toy could you possible need that much that you'd leave your lovely house and hang out with a bunch of freaks? I just don't get it.
Did you know that Kohls opens at 3 AM?
Did you know that people camp out for presents?
Did you know that this is the freakiest American tradition EVER???
Just sayin...good luck!

I'm with you! All these people get up at the butt crack of dawn, or pull all nighters and then wind up tired and cranky by 10am and treat the rest of the world like crap. And they think they have the right because "I went shopping for Black Friday!"
Whatever...I'm sleeping in and then hitting the casino with a girlfriend....that's my idea of a good black friday!
I am so with you.
saving a few bucks is not worth leaving my warm comfy house to "maybe" get whatever the hell it is these people are searching for.
I have no intention of even waking up until at least 9...and then I'll go join the freaks. :)
I'm so glad you say this!
I am the same - NOTHING in the world will make me brave crowds of people to save a few bucks! Nothing.
I even skipped all the baby expos because really, I do enjoy a good shop but the crowds? no thanks
Geesh, it's like stalking a Shop?? I'm not a big fan of technology or gadgets, neither are our children, so no lining up for the latest toys or Apple goodies for this house hold. I don't get it either. Can i be officially de-freaked?? Love Posie
I'm so glad to hear you say that. I thought it was a generational thing, and I was too old to get it.
As I am typing I am covered up with my fave fleece blanket on my couch drinking hot (decaf) coffee enjoying my day at home. Been there (years ago), done the shopping on Black Friday, seen the craziness and I am so happy I stopped the tradition. Christmas shopping done - love on-line shopping : )
There is no piece of plastic, aluminum, article of clothing that will force me to give up my sleep. No way, no how.
Yup, never have been, never will. (Agree with Danifred I need the sleep I get too much, and besides we always work the day after anyway.) Hubby has once, but that was to get something he wanted for himself and was at 7 am, still crazy if you ask me.
got up at 5:15, stopped at dunkies, and then hit up target and home goods. came home for a snack and then hit the mall. left there at 11 to avoid most of the crazy people. got some great deals, but i will not be one of those people who camp out for the best price on a tv or whatever electronic thing is hot. not me.
The one year I got up crazy early and went shopping with my MIL, I didn't even buy anything! I will definitely pay a few dollars more to avoid the crowds. According to FB, the line at our Toys R Us was wrapped around the parking lot twice by 11:00 last night. Insane!
I did set my alarm for 2:15, when I got up and ordered one of the $98 tvs from WalMart. I was back in bed 15 minutes later. That's my kind of bargain shopping!
Instead of setting an alarm for 2am (or never going to sleep at all) and fighting 1,000s of people and the freezing cold - I opted to sleep in, build Legos with my son, play Princess Yahtzee with my daughter, snuggle with my baby boy and watch Toy Story 3 as a family. :-)
by the way, did you just call me a freak?
From one freak to another - YOU MISSED A GREAT TIME!!! It's about people-watching as much as it is about all the bargains (which aren't really bargains, by the way). It's just fun
There is no item that would make me go camp out to buy it. I go because it's just... fun. If you're a morning person and like to get out and get things done early anyways, when else can you get out and get all your shopping done before 7:00 am? And just being in the holiday hustle and bustle with the music and the decorations and all the people watching is fun. It's an atmosphere thing. The excitement is in the air. I went with my mom as a little girl and now my 5 year old daughter begs to go with me. It's a fun bonding experience for both of us, culminating in a big mommy daughter breakfast out somewhere.
