All I Want For Christmas Is...

OMG...I don't know...what do I want for Christmas?  What can you get the kids?  Ack!  I don't know!!!

Ahhhh...gift giving...ones of the joys of the season, right?

WRONG!!!

Why is it so hard?  I'm not talking about getting things for my family (easy as I just get you stuff that I would like for my family and let Husband take care of his family), but it's the kids that are mucking everything up!

We pretty much know the big gifts that we're getting them...Hailey will be getting a dollhouse of some sort (because there are only 3,000,000 out there), Matthew will be getting a Thomas train track set of some sort, and their joint gift is probably going to be a table for said train tracks (as they are both waaaaayyyyy into Thomas and I really don't need this shit all over my living room floor...that's reserved for all the other shit that has taken up residence).

Then lovely people in my life start asking what to get them and I go mute.  I cannot remember what they like, what they already have, what I've already told people, or what my middle name is (not that my middle name matters at all, but I should be able to recall that pretty quickly, ya know?).

Am I really going to have to get more organized about this shit too?  I just can't keep it all straight!  Then I happened upon this blog post.

Okay, and I don't want to infringe on copyright stuff, so you must check out the article as I'm sure it's written in a much more articulate manner (she doesn't even curse), but here's the gist (OMG...spellcheck recognizes "gist" as a word, but not "spellcheck"):

  • something they WANT
  • something they NEED
  • something to WEAR
  • something to READ
  • something to WATCH
  • something for DRESS UP
  • something to LISTEN TO
  • something to EAT
  • something to CREATE
Feel the awesomeness...Kara Fleck, who put this together, should consider herself a genius.  Not only is this a good way to guide my gift giving for my Crazies, but also for other kids you have to buy for!  It's also going to help me organize what ideas I can give to other people.  Ahhh...the magic of the Internet, right?

Okay, now a quick question from little old me.  If I did a What Are You Reading Wednesday link-up, would any of you actually link up and talk about your books?  Just wondering...talking about my cysts, Knee, and the Crazies may not be all the entertainment you guys need!
