A Few Updates

  • Matt is doing much better after his seizure...he's grumpy and tired, but who wouldn't be, right?

  • Thank you all for checking in with us and sending your good wishes.

  • We went to the pediatrician for Hailey's neverending cough and had Matt checked as well.  They both have the V-word...a virus.  Blech!  Hate that word...it's just code for "you're screwed and have to suffer through this crap."

  • She also told us that there was little chance of Matt having another seizure since they started later then usual age-wise.

  • That doesn't mean that I won't be totally over-the-top hyper-vigilant whenever he gets a fever though.

  • We had an awesome weekend in Boston for Easter...really fun.

  • I will post more about Easter and our travels tomorrow...I gotta get it all together in my brain first.

  • During naptime yesterday, I actually tried to take a nap...I never do this.  Hailey wouldn't stop coughing though, so I convinced myself that she didn't nap (even though she seemed totally sleepy when we went to get them).  After I got home from tutoring last night, Husband informed me that she's coughing in her sleep...he went in to give her VapoRub and she was dead asleep...coughing her ass off.

  • At the same time, Matt was in his bed screaming, "Dammit, Hailey!  Stop coughing!  DAMMIT!!!"  That kid is a trip!

  • Aside from waking up at 1:30AM last nigh to give Matt his medicine, we finally got a full night's sleep...and I'm still tired!

  • One funny story from Boston:  We're on our way to the airport to come home.  We, like morons, forgot our EasyPass, so we had to use the CASH lanes...like suckers.  We pull up to the booth and the attendant is Japanese.  We're not there for 1.2 seconds when Hailey starts screaming "CHUBACHI!!!  MOM, IT'S THE CHUBACHI MAN!!!"  Yes, in Hailey's world, the word "chubachi" is the same as the word "hibachi" as in the Japanese cuisine.  I'm pretty sure she expected him to set my dollar bill on fire and crack a damn egg over it!  We were laughing so hard!

  • OMG...most importantly...I did it...I hit "mark all as read" yesterday on my Google Reader.  I was almost 500 posts in and would never climb out of that hole.  So, tell me if I missed anything interesting, funny, or otherwise please...I'm totally out of the loop!

So glad to hear he is doing better! I hope he and Hailey make a speedy recovery! It seems that damn cough always hangs around forever!

Can't wait to read about your trip and Easter with the Crazies!

Take care!

So glad he's better.

I did give you an award on my blog yesterday, but you've been a little busy so I understand if you don't get to it.

I am always scared of E getting another seizure. When his fever goes anywhere over 102 I'm on edge waiting it out. Just a couple weeks ago it was over 104 and I rushed him to the ER, and I kept thinking please don't seize while I'm driving, and he had his seizure at 9 months old, so the fear probably will never leave you, just like any other bad experience we have encountered, the what if, will it happen again. Hugs, hun.

I'm with you. I would freak out every time he goes over 98.6.

Don't you wonder how many days off YOUR life expectancy that experience removed?

I just signed up as your 200th follower!!!! YAY!!! Love this blog and would like to read your private blog, but I wasn't sure how to ask permission.

One of my daughters has been stuggling with high fevers all winter (like hovering at 103-105 for days) and it is very scary...especially watching for seizures. Hope you all are feeling better soon!

Chubachi??? bwahahaha! too funny! We haven't taken our kids to a Hibatchi place yet. My kids are kinda wimpy and I think they'd be afraid of the fire! ha!

Glad your lil guy is on the mend. Virus = ugh! Hate that word, too! Virus = helpless!

Matt yelling Dammit at Hailey totally kills me! I love it

Why do I find it hysterical that Matt yelled at Hailey to "stop coughing, dammit"!!!

You know what always works for my kids is honey. I give them a teaspoon of honey right before bedtime and it seems to soothe those middle of the night coughs. How funny, though, that she slept right through all the coughing!!

So glad to hear Matt is doing well!

The crazies are HILARIOUS! I almost sent you a bill for a new laptop thanks to Matt, and I probably would have pissed my self with Hailey screaming at the toll collector.

Too funny. Glad things are falling back to normal. Hopefully you'll fall in to a nice coma tonight and wake up refreshed!

I can't hit read all. I've slowly been trying to catch up on the blogs i've missed since I had the baby. I can't miss out on anything fun from anyone! however if I had 500 to read I would have hit that button as well.

I hate having to hit mark all as read. It makes me feel like a bad follower.
