My Tactile Learner...

I am aware of the fact that everyone has different learning styles.

Mine is visual...if you tell me something, I almost immediately forget it.

If I write it down or get an email, I will remember it.

It's just how I roll.

I haven't been able to pinpoint Hailey's learning style yet, but Matt, as most boys are, is completely tactile.

This both scares me and excites me.

This means that he will truly be able to experience things as they are to be experienced.

This also means that he will make me touch frogs and snakes (which makes me so nervous I pee a little...true story).

This weekend, on top of hibachi, Tae Kwon Do, a very stimulating Halloween party, playing in the snow, and carving our Jake-o-Lantern (no typ-o), Matt helped me bake.

They were both into this, but Matt really hung in there and got involved.  He pulled his step-stool right over to the counter, rolled up his sleeves, and wanted to know every single step.

He was good too...until I said the word "fart."  Because I thought he said the word "fart."  I wouldn't just say the word "fart" with no good reason.

Here are some shots.

"So, I put da dough in my scooper."
"And den it goes in my measuring cups for transport."

"Den I hafta make four balls...one for you, one for me, one for Daddy, and one for Haiwey."

"What it taste yike?"

"Dis big rolling pin is like a steam roller, right?  I use dat to make things for my scooper."

"What did you say?"

"Haha...you said 'fart?'  Dat is funny...fart is funny."

"Mommy said 'fart.'  Just for dat, you get your dough ball early."

"You funny, Mommy."
I love this kid.

I am such a visual learner too...I need to read it and preferably write it also.

He is just too cute helping you bake! I can almost hear him, thanks to your dialogue. : )

Oh, how much fun to really be working together in the kitchen! Our girls "help" but still in a very measured way.

I've gotta know...did you take the pictures? If so, double kudos! When I do get my girlies in the kitchen, I have yet to be brave enough to step far enough away to take a picture...I need both hands to grab them in case of a big mess! ;)

Love how he equated the utensils to truck stuff!!! Too cute!!

Kudos to you for recognizing this in him! I know you know how appreciated it is to talk to a parent who "gets" their kid!! Pretty rare these days though.

Ps...my kids love to help cook, too. They fight over it some nights!

He needs a little chef hat.

Anything related to bodily functions makes my three lose it.
