Friday Night Leftovers

  • I haven't mentioned this, but I FREAKING LOVE CAMP!!!  The Crazies have been in a camp that just goes 2 hours a day, but it's been this entire week.  I am in love with it.
  • I get errands done.
  • I get to work out.
  • They are tired out.
  • I was able to steam clean my kitchen floor.
  • It's amazing what 2 hours without Crazies will do for a person!

  • We're ordering appliances for the kitchen redo today.
  • We're also doing this sans Crazies (taking advantage of the last day of camp).
  • Husband took off work.
  • After appliances and backsplash tile (and frappucinos, of course), we're heading over to the pool...we might actually get 30 minutes of Crazy-free pool time before picking them up from camp!
  • I'm excited about new appliances too.
  • Our dishwasher is so freaking loud.
  • Our oven makes this weird clicking noise when the temperature is higher than 400 degrees.
  • It's time to update...before we blow up.

  • We used a new babysitter this week.
  • We used a new babysitter last week.
  • Why have I resisted this little area of parenthood?
  • It's lovely!
  • The Crazies take to them wonderfully...Hailey told me that she loved both of them...before they even arrived.
  • One was cool enough to continue the potty training stuff without either of us home.
  • She also appreciated my overdone notes on our routines and expectations (she knows who I am as she was a former student...she understands my craziness).

  • We went out for hibachi last night as Husband had a birthday coupon.
  • The Crazies were fairly well behaved.
  • They are obsessed with using the potty.
  • Matt got his arm stuck in the chair at the table and also (in a separate incident) almost fell off his chair causing Husband to catch him around his neck.  It wasn't pretty, but he didn't fall off the chair.
  • It's a weird feeling when you know that the chokehold would have been the better option for your child.

  • I've noticed that when really good friends come over, I completely neglect to take pictures.
  • Is it because I know they'll be back?
  • We had a great BBQ with friends last weekend and I don't have one damn picture.
  • This week, another friend came over, planted flowers with the Crazies, and again...not one damn picture.
  • These are people whom I love.
  • I should have pictures of them...and I don't...sigh...

  • I bought this napkin/placemat set this week during one of my 15-minute jaunts through Kohl's...alone...all alone...gloriously alone!
  • I thought it was super cute for the summer.
  • I also knew that there would be wars over the colors, but was fine with that...eventually, they'd settle on pink and orange (which are also the colors that we've settled upon for Daddy's birthday cake).
  • I get home...excitedly wash them that very night.
  • I go down to get them out of the dryer and they are such a wrinkly mess that I think I might have to break out the IRON!!!
  • This is not what I signed up for folks!
  • I don't iron.
  • Do you think I could return them?  I really hate how wrinkled they are and how much of a hassle they'll be to maintain.
  • I threw away the packaging, but still...I'm completely unsatisfied.
  • I still think it's a cute set.

  • Do you make plans for 4th of July weekend?
  • We never do.
  • We typically have a "relaxing" weekend.
  • I would love to watch fireworks somewhere, but have a low tolerance for bugs...and stupid people...and gross people...and people who talk too loud...and people in general.
  • Maybe I should just stay home.
