So, we had our preschool orientation this morning...oops, two of them.
I should just apply for a job there. I'm going to be there so much between drop-offs, pick-ups, volunteering, birthday celebrations, etc.
Anyway, I sat through two very different orientations and decided that these teachers are going to be a good fit for each of the Crazies...during their very first year ever of separation.
Hailey's teacher is very soft-spoken and kind.
Matt's teacher doesn't take any shit.
I think it's going to be good.
They're very aware of the kindergarten readiness thing.
Hailey's class has 8 summer birthdays (hers being the latest).
The parents are pretty cool (did I just say that out loud???).
So, today went well.
As we got out of the car, Matt did something dick-ish (because, well, he's a dick sometimes...no other word for it) and Hailey turns to me with a very serious look on her face. She says, "I guess dis is why we're separating this year, huh? Good thing." She's a nut, but she knows where it's at.
Hailey told me everything she did while I was in my meeting right down to which exact toys she played with and what part of the room she used.
Matt told me that he "played with G...a lot." Ummm...thanks. Don't overshare on your first day or anything, cowboy.
Tomorrow is their first full day of school and I want to sing and dance and jump for joy. No longer am I their only teacher, caretaker, disciplinarian, counselor, behavioral therapist, chef, etc. I have help.
The reinforcements are BACK and I couldn't be happier to see them.
That is all for now. I may be coming back to the blog-world...you just never know.
